The Daniel Defoe has long been a public house in Stoke Newington. Steptoes, The Clarence and The Salmon and Trout are just some of the previous names of the pub dating back over many, many years.

Sat in the middle of Stoke Newington Church Street, The Daniel Defoe is an authentic example of a traditional British pub that effuses old-fashioned comfort and serves incongrously great food.


The Pub has been run since January 2007 by Eamonn Doran


The style of the pub has changed greatly over the years also, from a 'Spit and Sawdust' type to a 'Traditional Country style pub' in the heart of North London
